According to ‘BMC Neurology’, new research has found that pesticides may be a direct cause of Parkinson’s disease.  The research looked at 319 cases of Parkinson’s disease and found that herbicides and insecticides ‘significantly’ increased the risk of Parkinson’s disease.

The herbicides and insecticides found to be the worst are those that contain organochlorine and organophosphorous compounds.

The study concluded that as a result, farmers and people living on farms who are regularly exposed to the chemicals may be at greater risk of developing Parkinson’s disease than the general population.

To add to their conclusions, I have to make it very clear that these chemicals are in all food stuffs that are not certified organic by the Soil Association. My question to you is, do you want these chemicals in your foods?

What I do find rather interesting is that senior politicians tell us that these chemicals are harmless and there is no difference between organic and non-organic produce. Do they inform us of this to improve our health or are they more concerned about economic factors?

If you want good health and vitality and wish to avoid illness and disease, my suggestion is that you only buy organic produce. The only real votes we have are with our wallets. Once the demand is great enough for organic food, the price will reduce so we can all afford it and the farmers won’t have to use these dangerous chemicals and put themselves at a high risk of Parkinson’s Disease and other health problems.
