The title above was the headline to a mail-out I received from a UK Cancer Charity.

Obviously, the charity was asking for me to donate cash to their cause. So what is wrong with that?

Here are some of the quotes from the letter:

  • “This letter has the power to help beat cancer”.
  • “We desperately need more people to respond to letters like this”.
  • “We know that people are frightened by cancer”
  • “1 in 3 of us will develop cancer…”
  • “..only 1 in 10 support (the charity).”

So what’s wrong with the letter? Well, here’s my view:

  •  “This letter has the power to help beat cancer”.

This letter has the power to raise money for the share holders of the pharmaceutical companies who are also the share holders of the banks that caused the current economic climate and took our taxes to line their pockets. The letter also has the power to continue the ineffective, debilitating, toxic treatments that have been shown to be only 3% effective despite what they tell us.

  • “We desperately need more people to respond to letters like this”.

The share holders desperately want to you to line their pockets so they can become even wealthier, whilst you become poorer and have to go them cap in hand for money that they (the banks) will make huge profits from in interest payments.

  • “We know that people are frightened by cancer”

Yes, and they want you to be scared. They want you to be so scared that when you get cancer, you’ll agree to any medical procedure that will save your life, even if it means pumping your body full of toxic drugs that destroy most of the cells that it comes into contact with malignant or not so they can make huge profits. They want you to be so scared that you will not believe that there are natural treatments for cancer that have been used successfully for decades.

  • “1 in 3 of us will develop cancer…”

The proliferation of cancer has happened due to a number of reasons:

  • Less and less consumption of organically grown natural, local foods from healthy soils.
  • Increased consumption of processed sugars and other carbohydrates
  • Increased consumption of trans fats
  • Decreased consumption of healthy saturated fats
  • Overuse of anti-biotic drugs
  • Increased levels of environmental toxins
  • Increased mental stresses of today’s societies and having to keep up with the Jones’s
  • Reduction in activity due to less manual labour and less time for recreation.
  • Less time spent in nature
  • Less quiet time
  • Less time for introspection.

The increase in cancer is not due to a deficiency in chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.

  • “..only 1 in 10 support (the charity).”

If 10% of the UK are donating £2 per week, this equate to £6,240,000,000 per year. That’s £6.24billion. Rather than the majority of this money going to the share holders of the pharmaceutical companies (the same people who are share holders of the banks), I think I have a better suggestion.
