If you have been reading my blog, you will no doubt know by now that meditation is great for your health. It is especially important today when many of us lead very busy lives and are always on the go.
It is vital that we give our parasympathetic nervous system time to do it’s thing and we must be still to do that. Our brains are also overloaded and need time to download.
I have come up with a solution that works for me that fits into my daily schedule. It may work for you, it may not. Some of you may already have time set aside each day for meditation or some form of Chi Cultivation. Well done to you guys!
What is currently working for me is to use my mp3 player which is full of great relaxing music which I play whilst walking to the train station in the morning and whilst on the train into work. Once on the train, I close my eyes and slip into my own world focusing on my breath. Twenty five minutes later I am off the train feeling relaxed and energised ready to start my day’s work.
The same process is repeated on the way home and I feel relaxed and ready to unwind before I go to bed.
If you are not already meditating give Commuting Meditation a go. Maybe start with just 10 minutes per day and build up from there. If you find it hard to do nothing, meditation will bring you greater benefits than most once you have mastered it.
