I have been receiving a lot of questions regarding protein shakes lately.

Ultimately, I recommend eating good organic food in accordance with your metabolic type. There are occasions however, when it is a challenge to eat an ideal meal or snack. Prior to or following sporting events can be a challenge. Whilst I suggest it is a second best option, you can make a good protein shake.

I would suggest you fully understand your metabolic type and also monitor or fine tune your reactions to any post exercise meal or shake, as you are likely to require more carbohydrates than normal. Most commercial protein powders available are full of cheap, toxic and rancid ingredients. Ensure you use good quality brands like those listed below.

Here are two protein shakes that you may wish to give a try:

Chocolate Shake:

Blend in blender for 10-20 seconds, then drink slowly and enjoy! Yum Yum!

Berry Shake:

  • 1 serving of Protein Powder (Pro Amino, Goatein or Whey Natural from www.mt-order.com (adviser No. 108-136) or Living Protein from http://www.nutri-fuel.co.uk/livingprotein.php)
  • ½ pint almond milk or raw (unpasteurized) milk.
  • 1-3 tsp Coconut Oil (from www.mt-order.com (adviser No. 108-136) )
  • 1 tsp of flax seed oil (from Fresh & Wild). Keep refrigerated
  • 1 handful of frozen organic berries (Blueberries are particularly good). The more you add the colder and more thick the smoothie becomes.
  • Optional – add 1 tsp of Manuka honey once per week
  • Optional – add 1 tsp of ‘In Liven’ Pro Biotic (from http://leighbrandon.mionegroup.com/en/home)

Blend in blender for 10-20 seconds, then drink slowly and enjoy! Yummy!

They both taste amazing!!!
Beware, you could get hooked!!!
